uPVC Sash Windows in Scunthorpe

uPVC Sliding Sash Windows are much like a traditional casement window but instead of opening on friction stays or hinges they are counter-weighted and installed on a special runner profile so that they can be effortlessly raised and lowered when ventilation is required. Sash windows are a more traditional form of replacement double glazing offering both style and reliability.

At ESG Windows we supply and install uPVC Sliding Sash Windows in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. Our energy saving sash windows are made from Synseal Evolve sash window systems and Saint-Gobain Planitherm 24mm double glazing units. Sash Window Security

Our uPVC Sash Window range are from Synseal Evolve VS fully featured A-rated profiles. Every sash window comes with stainless steel tilt restrictors to provide secure ventilation and allow access for cleaning. Metal key-locking sash hooks lock the two sliding sashes together when fully closed and travel restrictors can be specified to provide secure ventilation on ground floor or basement windows. This ensures the maximum security specification available while maintaining the traditional looks of a wooden sliding sash window.

uPVC Sash Windows do comply with fire escape regulations, keeping an equal split on the windows keeps the maximum clear opening for fire egress. On smaller windows the sashes can be specified as removable to allow the sashes to detach in the event of a fire. Toughened safety glass must be used in the lower sliding sash where the glass height of the lower pane is below 800mm from finished floor level. These details are specified to comply with current building regulations, at ESG Windows we are FENSA registered and will provide a FENSA certificate to confirm that your new sash windows comply with the regulations.

Sash Window Installation

Sash Window Styles

uPVC Sash windows offer a simple design alternative to casement or tilt & turn windows, due to the simply sliding design there is only one configuration available. Sash windows over 1500mm wide we will split in two the overall opening and couple two sash windows using a 30mm aluminium jointer, this ensures that the sliding sashes are not too heavy to ensure ease of use.

To add a more traditional look we recommend run-through sash horns, the fluted horns on the upper sash make the window look like a traditional wooden window. Astragal glazing bars give the look of genuine wooden Georgian bars with an internal spacer bar to give the effect of individual glass panes.
